Painting & Decks in Summit County

Interior and exterior painting, plus decks built and restored for high-country sun and snow — in Silverthorne and all around it.

The Colorado high country is beautiful and merciless to finishes. At this altitude the sun carries more UV than the same hour in Denver, and it bleaches stain, chalks paint and grays deck boards fast; then winter buries that same deck under feet of snow for six months. We do interior and exterior painting and we build and restore decks across Summit and Grand County — two trades that share one enemy, the weather. Inside, that means clean lines, protected floors and colors that hold up in strong mountain light. Outside, it means preparation before product: sanding, priming and materials chosen for altitude, from Breckenridge to Granby. Free quote in English or Spanish.

What's included

Painting up here has a season and a discipline. Exteriors want the warm, dry window when surfaces can cure; interiors go all year, and between renters or between ski seasons is when condos in Keystone and Winter Park get their walls, trim and doors brought back. Decks are structure first: footings, framing and fasteners chosen for real snow load, boards spaced so water leaves instead of sitting. A Frisco yard can hold south-facing sun and north-facing snow at the same time, and the deck has to be built for both. Tired decks come back too — boards replaced, rails tightened, the gray sanded off and a finish worked in that was made for this altitude, not for sea level.

Painting & Decks by city

The high country is not one market — a Breckenridge ski condo, a Silverthorne family home and a Granby ranch house are three different remodels, with three different winters.

Common questions

When is the season for exterior painting or a new deck?
The warm months — exterior paint, stain and deck finishes need dry days and mild nights to cure, and the mountain summer is short. Interior painting goes year-round, so winter is a good time for everything indoors.
Should a deck be stained or painted?
Up here, stain usually wins — it penetrates the board, wears by fading instead of peeling, and recoats easily after hard winters. Paint has its place on rails and accents. The free quote comes with a recommendation for your actual deck.
Can you repaint a rental between bookings?
Yes — short windows are normal work in a resort county. Tell us the check-out and the next check-in, and the job is scoped to fit between them, dry and aired out before guests arrive.
